Devroy Memorial Forum: Washington Post White House Reporter Ashley Parker
Ashley Parker, a Washington Post White House reporter who covers Donald Trump and his administration, will present “Covering Washington in the Age of Trump” during the 2018 Ann Devroy Memorial Forum at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Parker, a political analyst for MSNBC and NBC News, appears regularly on PBS’s “The News Hour” and “Washington Week.” She also will share insights about being a female reporter in today’s political environment.
Parker previously worked at The New York Times for more than a decade, where she covered politics, including Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign, Congress, and Jeb Bush and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaigns — among other topics. She wrote frequently for the style section, and her work also appeared in The New York Times Sunday magazine.
Parker has been covering Washington-based politics since 2011 and covers many Republican Party candidates, elected officials and topics. She began her career as Maureen Dowd’s research assistant after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in English and communications.
Prior to her presentation, Parker will spend the day in UW-Eau Claire classrooms talking with journalism students. She also will meet with members of the media before her Schofield Auditorium presentation.
