UWEC Forum Series - Bay Buchanan: "The Issues Politicians Are Afraid to Talk About"
Providing the savvy analysis of a campaign insider, political commentator Bay Buchanan—U.S. Treasurer under Reagan and campaign chair for brother Pat —has provided fascinating insights into government power. In this presentation Buchanan points her critical eye at the controversial topics that politicians are sometimes reluctant to talk about. With her trademark candor and the wisdom of a seasoned campaign strategist, she offers advice on how our country needs "real leaders to say unpopular things" and asserts that the schema of leadership should be "speaking what you believe, no matter the direction you take."
A typical Forum program includes a 60-minute lecture and a 30-minute question-and-answer session, followed by an informal open reception. The reception for this event will take place in the Ojibwe Ballroom, Davies Center 330. Books will be sold by the University Bookstore for signing by the speaker during the reception.
