Instructor: Mariann Holm
Mariann Holm and her husband Doran own a small organic farm in Dunn County. Their six grown daughters were integral to an enterprise: “Holm Girls Dairy” and their work was highlighted during the “In Her Boots” women farming workshop, facilitated by the Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service (MOSES). Today, a custom organic heifer raising business has replaced the dairy and an NRCS funded hoop house is a brand new enterprise for involving two young sons on the farm. Mariann serves on the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council and as a board member of the Menomonie Market Food Co-op. For several years, she helped Organic Valley farmers tell their stories and promoted the cooperative business model and organic agriculture to a wide range of audiences. She recently began work as an organic crop inspector.
