A Day Hiking in the Chippewa Valley to Clear Your Head

Nearly a quarter of all Americans report that they're stressed out, and the recent presidential election and the weeks following have seen anxiety levels soar. Fortunately, several studies show enjoying nature marks a great to find one's inner peace and restore physical health - and there are well over a hundred day hiking trails right here in the Chippewa Valley (Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn and Pepin counties) where you can regain contentment and recharge your mental batteries.  Rob Bignell will speak on some of the great places to hike in the Chippewa Valley, as well as why you should! He's written more than a dozen bestselling hiking guidebooks about places near and far. He lives in Menomonie, and will have books available for sale after the meeting. The Sierra Club-sponsored program will be at 7 PM Wednesday, March 1, at the Unitarian Social Hall, 421 S Farwell St, Eau Claire.
