Rock and Roll Damnation Print Show
Rock and Roll Damnation is a traveling exhibition portfolio organized by Joseph Velasquez. The effort involves 21 artists from across the country participating in a theme based on the influence of 70's and 80's Rock and Roll album art. The creation of the cd and mp3 has made that graphic influence of that time go the way of the buffalo. However, this exhibition shows the strong graphic influence of album art on contemporary artists.
Some artists chose a band, a lyric and even figures in popular culture. Chicago Sculptor, Michael Rea edition a suite of 25 wooden guitar amplifiers that act as an archival storage for the suite of prints.
Almost all disciplines of Printmaking can be seen in this collection, Lithographs, Woodcuts, Intaglios and Screen Prints can be seen.
