ArtsWest 31, the library's annual juried art show, features 55 works by area artists. The pieces were chosen from more than 150 pieces submitted for consideration. Selections for this year's show were made by Alan William Nugent, owner and curator of the Abode Gallery in Stockholm, Wisconsin. The exhibit can be viewed during normal library hours.

Creepy Crawlies!
Art activity of the week: Make a spider with squiggly legs in the Art Studio. All week: Decorate a paper snake with markers, play with creepy crawlies in our sandbox, and make a mouse craft in the activity room. Tues-Sat 11:15am-12:15pm and Tues-Sun 2:30-3:30pm, build a hanging spider with plates and yarn.

Curves Annual Food Drive
Help out the hungry in the Chippewa Valley by donating non-perishable food items to Curves Eau Claire. This Curves event has been taking place for over a decade and has been helping the hungry across the nation. From March 8-20th, potential members that bring in a grocery bag of non-perishable food items will earn free enrollment. Check for hours.

Posters & Pin-Ups
Featuring the designs and prints of Postergirl Art and a current body of work by local artist Stephen Bateman. The posters are mainly for rock band and festival promotion plus some limited edition screen prints signed and numbered by the artists and bands. The Pin-Up series takes on the classic pin-up girl with modern twists and surprises, executed in a raw yet deliberate style with pop color and graphic elements. This series explores visual attraction, body language, the art of seduction and misdirection.

Paths of the People: The Ojibwe in the Chippewa Valley
Ojibwe oral tradition speaks of life as a circular path, with parents passing on knowledge to children and grandchildren. This exhibit, open Wednesday through Sunday, showcases the challenges each generation of the Ojibwe people has faced, whether at treaty grounds, boarding schools, or boat landings, and how those challenges have influenced what knowledge has been passed down.
