This exhibit, open Wednesday through Sunday, showcases the challenges each generation of the Ojibwe people has faced, whether at treaty grounds, boarding schools, or boat landings, and how those challenges have influenced what knowledge has been passed down.

Unconscious vs. Consciousness: Erik Natti and Jeremy Anderson

Jeremy Anderson is a photographer from the Chippewa Valley who experiments with various vintage cameras and types of films, intending to show that the world can look very peculiar through a slightly different viewfinder. Erik Natti, a local Eau Claire artist, is an abstract expressionist painter combining watercolor with acrylic and pastel in his paintings. If needed, check venue for hours.

Andy Shafer's Unframed Art

He is Professor Emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he was Max Schoenfeld Distinguished Professor. He currently paints full-time in an old rubber tire factory while teaching Advanced Life Drawing at night. His work is part of the public collections of a number of museums including the Portland Art Museum in Portland, Oregon and the Sheldon Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Artist for the Month of August: Hot and Bothered by Susan Sveda-Uncapher

Susan Svenda-Uncapher’s exhibit, in the Heyde Center lower level gallery space, will feature an installation of her new mixed-media. The 2-D and 3-D pieces explore the shadowy nuances that weave through life, love and death. Susan is a mixed-media artist who has exhibited her work for nearly 20 years, primarily throughout the Midwest area. She has a BFA in Illustration from UW/EC and a MFA in Sculpture from the University of Chicago. Susan is also a past recipient of the Bush Artist Fellowship.

2010 Confluence of Art Biennial

Four Seasons/Four Corners

Roy Staab has had an international presence since the 1970's, weaving his large scale natural material temporary environmental art installations in natural settings.
