Posters & Pin-Ups: Artist Reception
Featuring the designs and prints of Postergirl Art and a current body of work by local artist Stephen Bateman. The posters are mainly for rock band and festival promotion plus some limited edition screen prints signed and numbered by the artists and bands. The Pin-Up series takes on the classic pin-up girl with modern twists and surprises, executed in a raw yet deliberate style with pop color and graphic elements. He is Professor Emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he was Max Schoenfeld Distinguished Professor. Wrapped in Pride: Ghanaian Kente and African American Identity
The brightly colored, geometrically patterned cloth called kente, made by the Asante peoples of Ghana and the Ewe peoples of Ghana and Togo, is the best known of all African textiles. Paths of the People: The Ojibwe in the Chippewa Valley
Ojibwe oral tradition speaks of life as a circular path, with parents passing on knowledge to children and grandchildren. Cultural Perceptions

Elegy to the Twentieth Century

Andy Shafer's Unframed Art
He is Professor Emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he was Max Schoenfeld Distinguished Professor. He currently paints full-time in an old rubber tire factory while teaching Advanced Life Drawing at night. Susan Svenda-Uncapher’s exhibit, in the Heyde Center lower level gallery space, will feature an installation of her new mixed-media. The 2-D and 3-D pieces explore the shadowy nuances that weave through life, love and death. Susan is a mixed-media artist who has exhibited her work for nearly 20 years, primarily throughout the Midwest area. Mari Jackson is a self taught visionary artist who is always inspired by her observations in nature, from forest to prairie and lakeshore to gardens. Most of her paintings are landscapes of western Wisconsin where she has lived most of her life. Mari feels Spirit working through her when creating and hopes to share the light of peace and beauty through her works.

Four Seasons/Four Corners
Roy Staab has had an international presence since the 1970's, weaving his large scale natural material temporary environmental art installations in natural settings. An exhibition of line and chalk drawings, paintings on paper and photographic documentation of works from 1967 to present, curated by Nicholas Frank for the Institute of Visual Arts (Inova), and a new outdoor installation by Staab and UWEC sculpture students.
