Dunn County Fish and Game Ice Fishing Contest

Sponsors Annual Ice Fishing Contest (Lake Menomin, February). The Association conducts an annual Ice Fish Contest and just completed its 59th event. Prize money is given to the three fisher-persons catching the largest fish in each of five categories. A number of raffles are conducted and non-fishing persons play Euchre and Bingo. Youth contest conducted when youth receive fishing equipment.

Wrapped in Pride: Ghanaian Kente and African American Identity

The brightly colored, geometrically patterned cloth called kente, made by the Asante peoples of Ghana and the Ewe peoples of Ghana and Togo, is the best known of all African textiles. Kente is a symbol of African pride and a powerful cultural icon. Examples, photographs and video are all part of this exhibit.

Holy Mackerel: The Artwork of Ivy, Emma and Sandra Klinbeil

What happens when three very talented members of one family exhibit in the same space? Ivy creates multi-layed, textural and surreal digital images that strive to synthesize the old with the new, without ever losing sight of appearing "hand-made". Emma's paintings reference "strange places in time - in childhood - where you know you've seen a monster behind the shower curtain, or your pet cat talked for a split second". Sandra paints contemporary devotional portraits.

"A Question of Manners" Fine Art Exhibition

The Furlong Gallery at UW-Stout is proud to present visiting artist Will Pergl in the upcoming show 'A Question of Manners.'
