Eroding streambanks, abandoned channels and a variety of other landforms indicate that the Lower Chippewa is a dynamic and changeable river. A history of channel change for the last 150 years confirms the river’s changeable nature and reveals temporal and spatial variability suggests a complex interplay of factors that control channel form.

Eric Lee & Jason Lanka Art Exhibit

Eric Lee will feature his recent large paintings as well as those of the past three years. Wrapped in Pride: Ghanaian Kente and African American Identity

The brightly colored, geometrically patterned cloth called kente, made by the Asante peoples of Ghana and the Ewe peoples of Ghana and Togo, is the best known of all African textiles. Kente is a symbol of African pride and a powerful cultural icon. Examples, photographs and video are all part of this exhibit.

Holy Mackerel: The Artwork of Ivy, Emma and Sandra Klinbeil

What happens when three very talented members of one family exhibit in the same space? Ivy creates multi-layed, textural and surreal digital images that strive to synthesize the old with the new, without ever losing sight of appearing "hand-made". Emma's paintings reference "strange places in time - in childhood - where you know you've seen a monster behind the shower curtain, or your pet cat talked for a split second". Sandra paints contemporary devotional portraits.
