Book Discussion: Animal Vegetable Miracle

In Barbara Kingsolver’s bestseller, ”Animal Vegetable Miracle: A Year of Food Life,” the author elegantly chronicles a year of back-to-the-land living with her husband, Steven, and 19-year-old daughter, Camille. While Barbara makes diary entries about attempts to grow their own food and to consume only locally-grown items, Steven explores business topics such as the economics of going organic, the losing battle in the use of pesticides, the importance of a restructured Farm Bill, and fair-trade.

from event: 3rd Annual Blues on the Chippewa

The Chippewa was two blocks away from the park. On another note, it is amazing to see Blues to grow every year. Hopefully next year has even people.

This was NOT a flea market. My girlfriend and I drove all the way to Cadott to find a tent and two guys selling fireworks and overpriced purses.
