'Daredevil' Soars into CMJ Top 200
Local indie-folk favorites Daredevil Christopher Wright reached #188 on CMJ with their debut full-length In Deference to a Broken Back. Released over a month ago on Amble Down Records, the album has been described as adventurous and organic by various outlets. In Deference is their best yet, and is expected to reach a larger audience than what has come before.
CMJ (College Music Journal) operates just under the radar as a source that reports the latest for people tired of MTV and corporate radio. Considering CMJ is read internationally, Daredevil Christopher Wright is officially a big deal. If that weren’t enough, newsstand fixture Paste Magazine called them band of the week, and perked ears to the fact that local hero Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) had a hand in mixing nine of the songs (probably while wearing a normal t-shirt, pair of tennis shoes and cotton pants. There was no wool involved).
