Best Place To Take Your Kids

1st Place: Irvine Park Zoo
2nd Place: Action City
3rd Place: Children’s Museum of EC

Irvine Park Zoo in Chippewa Falls is a 318-acre public park that is home to tigers, bobcats, cougars, black bears, deer, bison, and other wildlife. During the summer months, kiddos can visit the Red Barn Petting Zoo for a hands-on animal experience. (The park is also home to the annual Christmas Village, which is open between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, featuring more than 100 displays and 100,000 lights.) Action City (5150 Fairview Drive, Eau Claire) has more than 100 video and redemption games (the kind that give winners virtual tickets that kids can redeem for prizes) plus the largest indoor go-kart track in the Midwest, laser tag, a new laser maze, bumper cars, batting cages, a climbing wall, mini-bowling, and 18 holes of mini-golf outside. Oh, and the Chaos Indoor Water Park is next door, too. The final favorite for the pint-sized set is the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire (220 S. Barstow St.), where the little ones can be amazed (and educated) by sliding through a giant-sized digestive system, milking a mechanical cow, and much more. –Barbara Arnold
