German Art Students
Madison, WI - The German Art Students are a 4-piece rock and roll band from Madison. GAS plays hooky guitar pop, a bit rough around the edges – well-crafted but not slick. Influences range from 60s garage to 70s punk, continuing through new wave and indie rock. GAS has been compared to: B-52s, XTC, They Might Be Giants, The Pixies, Guided By Voices, Jonathan Richman, Talking Heads, The Figgs, and Devo. "The Onion" called GAS "new wave weirdos," which may or may not be accurate, but it would look good on the back of their t-shirts.
