On Memorial Day Weekend, bands from throughout the Chippewa Valley and beyond will join in a musical conglomeration of rock ’n’ roll. Memorial Rocks Weekend, sponsored by Keyeski Construction and 92.9 The X and hosted inside Every Buddy’s Bar and Grill, will offer a mixture of live music and tasty food and drinks. Friday will feature Bloomer-based progressive rock band Catechize, the Chippewa Valley’s own 7’s Catacomb, five-piece Iowan groove metal band Section Hate, and Caster Volor, which offers a self-described sound of vaudevillian opera with a heavy metal engine. Saturday will feature touring red dirt metal band Texas Hippie Coalition; Iowa-based rock ’n’ roll quartet The Zealots; Eau Claire’s own progressive, thrash, and metalcore influenced For Once; and Minneapolis-based heavy rock band VIA. On Sunday the weekend will close out with Midwestern punk rawk rock ’n’ roll band The Pimps and the high-energy, Eau Claire-based grunge rock group The Broken Eights. Stay for a night of jams, or dedicate the weekend to the music – all are invited to come together and celebrate rock ’n’ roll.
