Eau Claire’s Galaudet Gallery, 618 S. Farwell St., has released a call for submissions for its internationally juried summer exhibit, “Sense of Place: THERE.” It is the second year of a four-year art series, “Sense of Place.” The gallery offers three different exhibit themes that will focus on Walt Whitman as the “writer muse” to celebrate the poet’s 200th birthday, including the Political THERE, the Future THERE, and the Song of Myself THERE, according to its website. The exhibit will run June 18-Sept. 2, and the submission deadline is May 8. Artwork cannot be larger than five feet in any direction and cannot weigh more than 100 pounds. Artists may submit no more than three entries. Submissions must contain entries with at least one complete piece, an artist statement, biography, narrative, and entry description – including the title, mediums, dimensions, retail price, and whether it is for sale. The submission fee is $6 for one piece or $15 for three, due by May 8. Entries should be submitted to galaudetgallery@gmail.com. For more information, check out galaudetgallery.wixsite.com/ggllc
