Body Care Businesses Partner for On-Site Services + Essential Oils
Shannon Crandall and Amy Ely-McKane lived just a half a block from one another for more than 10 years before they met. When Crandall’s husband struck up a conversation with Ely-McKane, he discovered the women’s shared interest in essential oils and encouraged them to meet. Now, the two share an office space at 475 Chippewa Mall Drive, Suite 310, Chippewa Falls, where Crandall runs Therapeutic Massage in Motion and Ely-McKane runs Willow Wood Healing Arts.
Crandall is a licensed massage therapist, and Ely-McKane is an AromaTouch practitioner. They are both Independent Wellness Advocates with doTERRA, a company that sells essential oils. The duo has worked together to offer side-by-side massage sessions and in-home and event-based spa services for several years. They provide services to bridal parties, scrapbooking groups, couples, and more.
This summer they will offer their second on-site retreat. The event is set to feature meditation classes, and workshops in modern dance movement as well as massage, AromaTouch Technique, and essential oil workshops. “There are other things in the future but we are waiting to unveil those together,” Ely-McKane said.
“It’s nice to get out of the office sometimes and still do what we love to do,” Crandall said.
“We’re two local women that live on the west side that are very driven and creative, and we met through essential oils,” Ely-McKane said. Health and wellness are very important to both of them, and they are glad to be able to share with others through their services and retreat.
“We’re raising families together, and wellness is important to us,” Ely-McKane said. “When we found one another, we just clicked.”
The women’s skills complement each other nicely, bringing wellness to their clients. They believe massage can have a relaxing and healing effect on the body, and that AromaTouch can help ground people. “The healing of touch is very impactful,” Ely-McKane said.
