"Nobody Cares What You Think" – A Craft Talk From Our Very Own

Mike Paulus knows that nobody cares what he thinks. It’s one of the most notable lessons he’s learned during his years (and years) of column writing for Volume One. He’s going to share this insight, as well as many others, in a Chippewa Valley Writers Guild craft talk at the Pablo Center at the Confluence at 7pm Thursday, Jan. 17. Paulus has been the writer of The Rear End (which you can find in the back of this magazine) for more than 14 years. Its candid reflections on life in the Chippewa Valley and life in general have earned Paulus air time on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Wisconsin Life and Central Time. He hosts Volume One’s Let’s Be Honest grown-up storytelling series, and helped produce the first True North live multimedia storytelling event last November. In so many years of writing, he’s felt incredibly inspired at times – and completely unenthused at others. He’ll talk about both and all the in-betweens at this free event.
