The Dunn County Humane Society will host “Guffaws for Paws,” an 18+ comedy night on Saturday, Dec. 29. The show will be at the Off Broadway Banquet Center in Menomonie, a space that the Stout Ale House donated for the event. DCHS is a non-profit, no-kill facility that relies on the generosity of individuals and corporations in the area. Director Josh Dalton said that the society puts on more than 10 fundraising events each year. This one is particularly special because it’s a homecoming for comedian Tim Harmston, a Menomonie native who will headline the event. Harmston has made appearances nationally, including on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Comedy Central, and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” Also performing are Wendy Maybury and Bryan Miller. Maybury has a debut comedy album coming out this year, while Miller is a Minneapolis-based comedian who frequents comedy festivals and writes for radio shows. According to Dalton, “Proceeds from this event will go directly to the care of nearly 150 cats and dogs currently in the facility, which includes food, vaccines, medications, and daily care items.” To help some amazing animals and enjoy a night full of laughs, tickets for “Guffaws for Paws” can be purchased at DCHS, Stout Ale House, or online. General admission is $20, which VIP tickets – which include table seating and a pre-show pasta buffet – are $55. Dinner begins at 5pm, doors open for general admission at 6pm, and the show starts at 7pm.
