Northwoods Rock Rally: ‘Party or Stay Home’

Cassandra Kyser |

If Buckcherry, P.O.D., Lit, and Alien Ant Farm sound like your dream mixed tape from the ’90s, you’re in luck. They are just a few of the bands that will be playing at this year’s Northwoods Rock Rally Aug. 16-19 in Glen Flora (about 75 miles northeast of Eau Claire).

Local bands Filthy Sweet and Anxiety are also scheduled to take the stage. Phil Schmidt, who is involved in planning Northwoods, expects between 3,000 and 4,000 concertgoers over the course of the weekend. Besides music, the Rally will include a costume party on Thursday and Rock Bouncers buggy races on Sunday.

Single day passes start at $20, or you can party all weekend long for $99. Campsites are available, but don’t hesitate on making reservations because spots are limited. Northwoods’ rules are simple: “Don’t be a dumbass” and “Party or stay home.” Other than that, find a babysitter because while Sunday’s buggy races are family-friendly, all other events are 18-plus.
