Eau Claire will be featured in every episode of the next season of streaming TV series Fireball Run – musically, at least. The road-rally show, which streams on Amazon Video, recorded the first episode of its 11th season last fall in Eau Claire. As a nod to the city’s jazz heritage, the producers decided to create a jazz version of the program’s theme song with the help of Bob Baca, director of Jazz Studies at UW-Eau Claire. The jazz theme was arranged by UWEC alumnus Aaron Hedenstrom, a composer and saxophonist. While it was originally meant to play only during the final credits of the episode featuring Eau Claire, Baca said the producers have decided to use the jazz theme at the end of every episode of the season. The producers plan to return to Eau Claire at the end of April to record audio and video of UWEC’s Jazz I ensemble performing the theme. The 11th season of Fireball Run is expected to premiere on Amazon Video in October.
