How did Eau Claire became the arts, music, and cultural center it is today? Where is it heading as it serves as a role model for other cities seeking to verve up? These will be topics of conversation at “The Eau Claire Arts Revolution: A Conversation about the Arts as an Economic Engine,” from 5:30-8pm on  Thursday, April 12, at The Lakely, 516 Galloway St. A live jazz performance will follow.

Three experts in the field will share how community leaders, business owners, and arts organizations joined together to make Eau Claire an iconic arts and culture destination that other cities want to follow and imitate: George Tzougros, an alumnus of UW-Madison Bolz Center for Arts Administration and executive director of the Wisconsin Arts Board; Robert Baca, director of jazz studies at UW-Eau Claire; and Nick Meyer, co-founder and owner of Volume One and The Local Store & Gallery.

The event is hosted by UW-Madison in partnership with UW-Eau Claire and the Wisconsin Alumni Association Chippewa Valley Chapter. While the registration deadline for the $10 event was April 2, you can learn more about the event by contacting Jordan Langer at (608) 308-5430.
