Event Will Celebrate King Day

Several Eau Claire organizations have come together to host a commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 15. The ceremony will take place at 6pm at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire. Students from area elementary, middle, and high schools, along with faculty members from UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, and  Chippewa Valley Technical College will participate in the ceremony.  The event also features state Reps. Warren Petryk and Dana Wachs as speakers. The ceremony will include readings from King’s works, musical performance, and multimedia presentations detailing the history of the Civil Rights movement. The event is open to all.
