UWEC, UW-Stout Set to Launch New Grads

A flurry of mortarboards will fly skyward on Saturday, Dec. 16, as two Chippewa Valley universities hold end-of-year graduation ceremonies. Commencement exercises for 665 students at UW-Eau Claire will be held in Zorn Arena. Candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences will receive degrees during a 9am ceremony. Candidates from the College of Business and the College of Education and Human Sciences will receive degrees during a 2pm ceremony. A total of 629 students are candidates for bachelor’s degrees, including 230 from the College of Arts and Sciences, 159 from the College of Business, 168 from the College of Education and Human Sciences, and 72 from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. A total of 36 students are candidates for graduate degrees. Meanwhile, UW-Stout’s fall semester ceremonies will also be held Dec. 16 for 749 graduates at Johnson Fieldhouse. A total of 609 undergraduates and 140 Graduate School students will receive degrees in 9:30am and 2pm ceremonies. The morning ceremony will be for graduates from the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management; and the Graduate School. The afternoon ceremony will be for graduates from the College of Education, Hospitality, Health and Human Sciences; the College of Arts, Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences; and the Graduate School. UW-Stout Chancellor Bob Meyer will address the graduates and confer degrees.
