Fishers, kayakers, and motorists alike will again be able to use the Carson Park Causeway starting Friday, Nov. 17. The construction, which began in July, is expected to be finished by that date. The improved structure will have higher clearance over the water, which will allow boats to pass under the bridge more easily. Two fishing piers and walkways will allow better access to the water for fishers without contributing to erosion. The new structure will meet safety standards for car, bicycle, and pedestrian travel, sporting wider sidewalks and bike paths. The project cost $2.9 million, $900,000 of which was provided by the state of Wisconsin.
