Was something missing from your life in the past few months that you couldn’t quite put your finger on? It might have been Volume One’s Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll, which is usually conducted in late summer and published in the fall. Don’t worry, we didn’t get rid of the poll – how else would we find out where to get the best sushi or to see the best stand-up comedian? In fact, the 11th annual incarnation of our beloved poll will be back and bigger than ever before you know it. Voting will begin at VolumeOne.org/bestof on Tuesday, Nov. 28, and run through Wednesday, Dec. 12. There are well over 200 categories in this year’s poll, covering everything from restaurants to local media to news issues to arts and entertainment and everything else that’s important in life (including cheese curds). And don’t forget: You get to add your own responses to any poll question online – responses that can, in turn, be voted on by everyone else. (How’s that for democracy?) Also, just like in years past, you don’t need to complete the poll start to finish – you can just skip around, voting all willy-nilly in whatever order you want. (What a country!) The results will be published in our ginormous special issue in February. So mark your calendars, consider your favorites, and get ready to vote!
