A Chippewa Valley native who has worked at Royal Credit Union for more than 20 years became the fourth CEO in the financial institution’s history on July 31. Brandon Riechers, who most recently served as RCU’s executive vice president and chief lending officer, will replace Rudy Pereira, who resigned in April to become CEO of a credit union in California. “I’m honored to be selected as Royal Credit Union’s next president and chief executive officer,” Riechers said in a press release. “Royal has a proud history, a reputation for excellence and is deeply committed to serving our members. I look forward to leading an organization that exists to make a positive impact in the lives we touch and the communities we serve.” Doug Olson, the chairman of RCU’s board, lauded Riechers as “the person best suited and uniquely qualified” for the job. Riechers began working at RCU when he was still an undergraduate at UW-Eau Claire in 1996. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from UWEC (in finance and management information systems) and will receive a master’s in business administration from UWEC in December. Riechers and his family – including his wife, Emily, and daughter, Ella – live in Eau Claire.
