the goofy nuns from Nunsense stage a holiday musical

James Johonnott |

The nuns are back for a Christmas-themed extravaganza! The fourth in Dan Goggin’s series of Nunsense musicals, “Nuncrackers” sees the nuns taping a TV special for their local cable access station. The nunsensical nuns from previous classic Nunsense shows, including a former circus performer, an aspiring ballerina, a streetwise nun from Brooklyn, and more wacky nuns return for Christmas fun. They’ll be joined by other series characters like Father Virgil and several of Mount Saint Helen’s most talented students. “Nunsense: Nuncrackers” features all new songs including: “Twelve Days Prior to Christmas,” “Santa Ain’t Comin’ To Our House,” “We Three Kings of Orient Are Us,” and “It’s Better to Give Than To Receive.” This show is filled with “Nunsense” humor, some of your favorite carols, show original holiday tunes, a “Secret Santa,” and a hilarious rendition of the Nutcracker Ballet. The sisters of Nunsense will make you laugh and feel the meaning of the season. This humorous holiday addition to ECCT’s lineup is directed by Steve Turek and features veteran local performers Carole Spense, Laura Robbins-Leisz, Diane House, David Olson, Brenda Locher and Cathy Reitz. You can find out more about Nunsense online at nunsense.com and watch clips of previous shows and a trailer for Nuncrackers at youtube.com. Don’t miss the nuns and their Nunsense this holiday season.
