Beyond the Mainstream

EC’s newest art gallery features artwork, handmade decor

Eau Claire’s newest art gallery is filled with more than just pretty pictures. The product of diverse local talent, 200 Main proves that artwork cannot always be hung on a wall. Artists Jo Burke, Jody Balow, and Lissa Siedow are the imaginations behind 200 Main, which will host its grand opening Nov. 11 and 12. The space features visual art, home décor, furniture, hand-painted pillows, and a variety of other inventive pieces. From repurposed teapot lamps to “Eau Claire, Wisconsin” pillows, the ladies’ art is homegrown, eclectic, and always tasteful. Visiting artists add to the experience, bringing fresh art to the gallery every two months. Unique to 200 Main is a gathering space where Burke, Balow, and Seidow plan to host small events for the community. “Our plans are to contribute to the vibrant downtown momentum by providing a creative environment, gathering space and unique shopping experience,” says Burke. The upcoming grand opening features drawings for giveaways and discounts as well as an artists’ reception. Stop by to browse, buy, and give your local artists some love.
