Clear Water Comedy is bringing talent from the potato land of Idaho to The Plus this Thursday. Emma Arnold, comedian and narrative nonfiction author, will headline the knee-slapping shindig. Arnold is a veteran to comedy shows, and has performanced at several comedy festivals, including the Limestone, Great American and Laugh Your Asheville Off on her resumé. She will be joined by Wisconsin native Kaz Gable. The North High School alum, also a writer and comedian, will reveal his witty thoughts about fatherhood and his relocation from Eau Claire to Boise at the show. Gable has spent his time in the Northwest perfecting his standup comedy act, and won Boise’s Funniest Person contest in 2014. Any aged body with a functioning funny bone is welcome to come to the show. Chuckle with this hometown hero before heading over to the Eaux Claires music festival and celebrating more homegrown talent (Bon Iver? Never heard of ‘em) the next morning.

Clear Water Comedy Presents: Emma Arnold and Kaz Gable • Thursday, August 11 • 9 p.m. (doors at 8) • All ages welcome • $5 • The Plus, 208 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire
