New Museum Planned in Chippewa Falls

V1 Staff |

The Chippewa County Historical Society took the first step toward building a new museum with the April 25 demolition of a former Dairy Queen near the entrance to Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls. The historical society purchased the building, 12 Bridgewater St., last December, and is now in the midst of raising funds to build the Chippewa Area History Center, which will house a museum as well as the historic society and the Chippewa County Genealogical Society. The 25,000-35,000 square foot building will cost $3 million to $3.5 million, the Chippewa Herald reports. The society has a small museum at its current location, 123 Allen St., a former convent.
