French Toast Fix

this year’s Beaver Creek event has a syrupy addition

Raquel Dorf |

Since 1947 Beaver Creek Reserve has been serving the greater Chippewa Valley area by providing individuals with the opportunity to learn about the wonders of nature, but once a year they serve up something a little sweeter: French toast! The annual French Toast Breakfast has been happening the first Sunday of every February for almost 30 years, but this year the event is being held later to coincide with the maple syrup season at Beaver Creek. Attendees will be able to participate in the Adopt a Maple Tree Program, which entails decorating a collection bag, which will be used to gather the sap that is transformed into delicious syrup. Join the Beaver Creek crew for their famous French toast but also for other family-fun activities: Shop the Nature Store specials, see the Chippewa Valley Watercolor Artist exhibit and sale, participate in raffles, and hike the trails! The Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society will also be hosting an open house at the Hobbs Observatory. It will be a day filled with nature activities for everyone. The French Toast Breakfast also a major fundraiser and has attracted as many as 800 people in the past, so get your tickets early!
