Roll out your wheels for the car show at the St. James the Greater 24th Annual Summerfest. Held Sunday, Aug. 9, starting at 8am, the show is open to collectors, enthusiasts, or just anyone with a passion for cars. Enter to win a dash plaque, a “super trophy,” or a door prize. Car clubs are encouraged to attend. There are no year limits, and cars can be entered in several categories: antique, stock, custom, street rod, car, truck, and motorcycles. Trophy presentation will be held at 3pm, and cars will be judged by both professional appraisers and participants of the show. As many as 130 cars are expect at this year’s show (weather permitting). A few of the amazing antique cars on display include a 1955 Cadillac Coupe Deville, a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado, a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, and a beautiful 1935 Ford four-door convertible. The car show is just one part of the church’s fundraiser, which also includes great food, a raffle, bingo, games for kids, and live entertainment. It’s a great way to spend a summer Sunday with the family.
