“When I was living in Eau Claire, I could not afford cable TV, so YouTube became my main form of entertainment. One of the YouTubers I follow shared that he got a new puppy named Edgar Allan Pug. This news reminded me of a portrait assignment from a previous class. The teacher had us create three portraits, one of which had to be an author. He warned that Edgar Allen Poe was the most depicted/illustrated author and it would be wise to steer clear of him as a subject. I decided to create a portrait of Edgar Allan Poe unlike any other. My work mainly consists of portraits, and I always strive to capture the essence of my subject.” – The Artist
