Chigliak Preps 12 Rods Vinyl Reissue

Eric Christenson |

12 Rods were a pop group from Minneapolis who called it quits after their last album, Lost Time, which was released – as coincidence would have it – 12 years ago. Now with the help of Justin Vernon’s “lost art” record-revival label Chigliak Records, Lost Time will see its day in the sun. Aptly titled, Lost Time was released in 2002 and 12 Rods seemed poised to make a huge splash nationally, but fizzled due to label obligations and member shuffling. The album was hugely important to Vernon, thus it was one of the first records planned for revitalization when Chigliak became a thing in 2011. “Lost Time is one my most listened to albums of all time,” Vernon said on the Chigliak website. “It’s one of the only records I know of that is so full of hooks, yet never feels recycled or fake; it’s just so f***ing enjoyable from stem to stern. And now with its first ever vinyl pressing, I hope that this album can be as much a companion to you as it has for me.” The album will be released Jan. 20. See chigliak.com to learn more.
