Pondering making a donation to help the Confluence Project reach its ambition goal of raising $15 million from private donors? Now might be the time to get out the personal (or corporate) checkbook. On Feb. 17, Charter Bank announced that it will match up to $250,000 in new pledges of $25,000 or more made by March 31. Charter Bank’s offer, if fully matched, would make the Eau Claire-based bank one of the top donors to the proposed performing arts center. (Other generous givers include RCU, U.S. Bank, and JAMF Software.) “We are please to support a project that will revitalize our downtown, enhance our arts community, create jobs, and increase our tax base,” said Paul Kohler, president and CEO of Charter Bank Eau Claire. Charter, an independently owned community bank at 1010 W. Clairemont Ave., has more than $550 million in assets, making in the largest bank in the region.
