Cheesehead Cinema

deadline nears to enter Wisconsin Film Festival

Tom Giffey |

Film festivals aren’t just for ski resorts and the French Riviera: We’ve got one in the Badger State, too. The Wisconsin Film Festival screens 150 films over eight days each April in Madison. All of them are linked to Wisconsin, either because they were filmed here or because they were written, directed, produced, performed, etc., by a Wisconsinite. And that’s where you come in: If you’ve created (or are connected to) such an example of Cheesehead Cinema, the deadlines for entering the 2014 fest are fast approaching. Non-student films must be submitted by Nov. 30; students have until Dec. 31. If you dream of someday bringing home a coveted Golden Badger, check out wifilmfest.org to learn more.
