“Red Painted Horse” by Terry Meyer
Watercolor, 26”x40”, 2013

Terry Meyer is a self-taught artist, living in Eau Claire where he paints, teaches classes and participates in over 15 art shows each year. He is also represented by several galleries.

“I paint large watercolors in subject matter that includes horses and land forms. My passion is for a bolder, edgier style of painting, a style that gives energy and motion to the work. ‘Red Painted Horse’ is one of my more stylized paintings, but I always maintain a respect for the medium. Water always finds a way whether it’s flowing down a mountain, in a stream or on a piece of paper. I try to assist and direct it, but the medium has the ultimate say. My work is represented at several galleries, including Kelley Gallery in Hudson and Woodbury, Minn.; Lovely Days Gallery in Paoli, Wis.; and RARE Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyo.” – The Artist

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a letter.
