Ninety-Two Years in a Few Short Stories

Thom Fountain |

Needless to say, the America and Americans of today are radically different than they were in 1921. That was the year that Harold Kringle was born, and the local author takes a look back at how those changes came to place from his perspective in his new memoir The Good Old Days. Kringle was encouraged by his family to put his stories and reflections on paper and recently published the result. Throughout his 92 years thus far, Kringle served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, moved back to Wisconsin and bought a farm just north of Barron. His memoir is broken into a number of short stories capturing moments from his life, particularly his involvement in the dairy industry in Wisconsin. The Good Old Days is available at The Local Store at 205 N. Dewey in Eau Claire.
