Shown here: a winter activity you might enjoy.

The frigid air. The deep freeze. The cold. It has cometh. Your fingers and toes are frozen, your breath is a frosty cloud, and your tongue may very well be stuck to a metal pole as you read this. But we can’t let frostbite and windburn define us. We are Wisconsinites. We eat cheese and drink beer all year just to develop that extra “layer of cozy” that finally becomes useful at this exact moment. As a community, we’re pushing back against the bitter onslaught more and more each year. Your fellow citizens are risking their own warmth to provide frosty fun designed to get you out and experience the Wonderful Wisconsin Winter: ski jumping tournaments, cross-country ski races, snowshoe hikes, ice skating socials, winter parades, neighborhood sledding parties, and more. Events designed specifically around the cool air that smacks you in the face with life-affirming vim and vigor. Don’t fight these hearty neighbors, Wisconsinite. Get off that comfy couch and out from under that blanket. Experience their efforts. Go to their offerings, breathe in the freshness – grab bare handfuls of snow and mash them into your naked face. Live the Wisconsin Winter, Wisconsinite. Live it.
