L.E Phillips Memorial Public Library is hosting a pretty (forgive me) cutting-edge show through the month of November. Cut It Out features collage work from artists around the Midwest: Lori Chilefone, Marcella Edmund, Jeffrey Hirst, Douglas Johns and Mike Koppa. And while many may think of elementary school when the word collage comes up, the art form will be presented through a variety of forms at Cut It Out, showing patterns, contrastable elements and “unpredictable interiors of the subconcious mind.” The work also showcases the wide variety of materials that can be used in the art of collage, including paper, wax, pigment and other found materials. The show will run at the libray until Nov. 27.
