New Laarks Video to Debut at the Volume One Gallery w/ Showing of Sugar Mountain

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard new recorded music from Laarks, one of Eau Claire’s premiere indie rock troupes. But don’t worry: The wait is soon over. Laarks will debut a new track off their forthcoming album Fiat Lux on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Volume One Gallery (7pm) with a dynamic and well-produced music video, created by local filmmaker Peter Eaton. Clocking in at nearly seven minutes, the fast-paced video, titled “The Human Abstract” fits nicely into the Halloween theme that takes over late October, with its creepy alien abduction plot. Before the video, there will also be a showing of Eaton’s short film “Sugar Mountain” (17 minutes), which was finished earlier this year and features local actors set in scenes around Eau Claire. There’s no release plans for Fiat Lux as of yet, but this video should feed your Laarks fix for a little while. The artists will be on-hand after the screening to chat briefly about the projects and answer any questions. You can see teasers for both videos below.
