Ian Kloster

Ian Kloster, an artist inspired by people, action, and imagination, received an illustration degree at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2008. The imagery for this issue, contrived from those cultural experiences of living in the Chippewa Valley for six years, offers a glimpse of a fun, colorful community, that helped make him who he is. The work is accomplished with acrylic paint, india ink, and pencil on Rives BFK. ”

What we were thinking: "A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Kloster for taking on this year's Best Of the Chippewa Valley results issue. To do so, Kloster not only created a custom piece of artwork for the cover (above), but also nine other pieces to mark the beginning  of each section in the magazine, based on general concepts such as 'chomping and chugging', 'arts', 'media', and more – all while retaining a cohesive style and adding local elements when appropriate. Check out the results of our 2012 Best Of Reader Poll – and the rest of Ian's artwork – right here. "  – The V1 Staff
