It’s Local. It’s Fresh. It’s a Smorgasbord of UW Student Art Shows. Around here, we make artists. Grab your plate and see what the newest of the new have been cooking up. Running now, UWEC’s Foster Gallery presents its show of current student art juried by a nationally known artist; this year, the exhilarating Libby Rowe. This annual showing of the cream of the year’s work runs through April 22. The Senior BFA Exhibitions will be next up, opening April 28, reception 1-3pm, closing May 13. Stout’s Furlong Gallery is offering a slew of new artists in juried shows kicking off with the “Best of Design,” featuring the luminous stars of Stout’s design programs, opening April 18, reception 5-7pm. Running concurrently is the enticingly titled “Prometheus” exhibition, an annual collaboration between top English and Fine Arts students, opening April 20, reception 3-5pm. Both exhibitions close May 1. Following that, Furlong will present their annual BFA show.
