Jaron Lee Knuth's New Book Goes Virtual

Lindsey Matysik |

Jaron Lee Knuth just released his newest book, Level Zero, which is a story about some unfortunate kids stuck in a virtual reality game that won’t let them log out. The book is a riveting read much like the Hunger Games meets The Matrix with just a dash of Tron. In Knuth’s futuristic world, civilization relies on virtual reality for everything – including school, shopping, going to church, playing games, and general socializing. After starting the draft that became Level Zero, Knuth wrote every day for two months to finish the book. He had been playing around with story on and off for the last seven years. The book, like Knuth’s other titles (After Life, Demi God, Fixing Sam), is self-published. Knuth, who is also an electronic musician and comic book author, is a huge advocate for self-publishing because, “you answer to no one but yourself and your readers.”
