E.J. Dionne Jr., about to bust out with
some serious column writing.

E.J. Dionne Jr., a syndicated columnist with The Washington Post, will be the featured speaker at the 2011 Ann Devroy Memorial Forum at UW-Eau Claire. The forum, free and open to the public, will be held May 4 in Schofield Auditorium at 8pm. In 1990, after spending 14 years at The New York Times reporting on state and local governments, Dionne joined The Washington Post as a political reporter and has worked in Paris, Rome, and Beirut as a foreign correspondent. Also a professor at Georgetown University, Dionne makes regular appearances as a commentator for NPR, ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, and NBC’s Meet the Press. The Devroy Fund awards a scholarship and helps lessen the cost of a residency at The Washington Post for one journalism student per year. The Devroy Fellow is announced during the forum. The Ann Devroy Memorial Forum, along with the Devroy Memorial Fund, was established to honor the outstanding political work by alumna Ann Devroy, who wrote for The Washington Post and died of cancer in 1997.
