The Return of the Scrabble Bee

Emily Anderson |

Scrabble Bee If you love words and board games, Literacy Volunteers of the Chippewa Valley has the event for you. LVCV is hosting the 10th annual Scrabble Bee at 29 Pines in Eau Claire on April 7. The Scrabble Bee is open to anyone and up to five of their friends, coworkers, relatives, etc. In addition to the $350 registration fee, teams are encouraged to raise donations to help fund the Literacy Volunteers’ vast array of programming. For those who are not aware of what LVCV does, the organization’s focus is on fighting literacy related problems in the Chippewa Valley. Over a 25-year history its volunteers have helped members of the Chippewa Valley earn their GED/HSED, learn English as a second language, and obtain employment. Prizes will be awarded to teams/individuals with the highest number and amount of donations, teams with the highest and lowest score, and the team with the best costume.
