Bound 2 Break Out

Trevor Kupfer |

When you’re a 90s alternative rock band and you land a major market gig opening for Third Eye Blind and Good Charlotte, you’ve basically hit the jackpot. Such is the case for Bound 2 Break, a mainstream-sounding five-piece original band hailing from Eau Claire. Three of the members are natives (Dwayne Gruhlke, Ryan Pittenger, and Jared Bechard), and two aren’t (Gordon Altizer and Antoine Stafford). All of them made the bold choice to hold out on the prospect of college and see if they can play music full time. In the past few months they’ve won two regional battle of the bands, and played gigs in the Twin Cities. But the aforementioned breakout is at The Rave in Milwaukee on June 11 as an opener for the Bamboozle Road Show with All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, LMFAO, and others. Check them out this summer with gigs at Bottle & Barrel, Altoona City Park, Shari’s, and FATFAR (Two Waters). Or else visit Bound2BreakFans.com.
