Obsession Truffles Take Home Chocolate Award

Matt Ledger |

Rack up dessert-making as another area where the Chippewa Valley excels. Rebecca Flynn and her employees at Obsession Chocolates recently brought home their second victory from the Bloomington Arts Council’s Taste of Chocolate competition. Their entry, a tropical display centered around their Papaya Habañero and Wild Mint Mojito truffles, won the Best Chocolate Confection Award. Flynn also entered the Best Dessert competition with her Piggy Paradise cupcakes, treats that take their cue from the current chocolate-covered bacon craze. Flynn hopes to win both awards next year, as that would earn her the right to become an honorary judge at future contests. Of course, with continued success comes expansion. Keep your eyes peeled for the opening of Obsession’s second store, located on Barstow Street, sometime early this summer. In the meantime, you can still hit up their Water Street location or order over the phone at 514-1720.
