Fathom’s t-shirt implores you to support broke rappers.

The House of Rock may have to temporarily change its name on Dec. 4 – I’m thinking Hip-Hop House or Rap Shack or Abode of Beats, something like that – for the arrival of the annual Hop-Hop Invasion. Come check out the formidably fresh acts for FREE – that is, as long as you are over 21 – so, even if you are broke as a joke, there’s no excuse for missing this great display of local talents. Infamous DJ Beze and Romes will host the night, with everything from MC, B-Boy, and production battles to good old-fashioned dope music. All kinds of ruckus will be happening, but hey, they don’t call’em “battles” for nothing, you know. MC’s can get hardcore if need be, and on-the-spot improv is the calling card of a truly great mic master. Not to mention all the live performances by the likes of Fathom, Carver, K-Way of Duce Duce Entertainment, Fro Fo Sho from Effit Records, and rumored special appearances from B-rit, Famoe’s, and Capacity. These performers have shaped Hip-Hop in Wisconsin and the Midwest over the past several years, earning respect and establishing a voice of their own. These guys are doing what they love, and with the opportunity to have an annual event dedicated to that creative voice, hopefully they will continue to add something unique to our music scene for years to come.
