With representatives from the Board of Regents coming by to oversee the plans for UWEC’s new student center, the university’s art department has taken a few extra steps to help them remember that we’re still in line for a new arts building and the high-quality department could use a bit more funding. Members of the department have accordingly invited recent accomplished alumni to join the faculty art show in Foster Gallery (Zach Stenson, Jane Marie Ovanin, Greg Gossell, Lucas Guesenkamp, and Min Sun Lee), and created a hallway display of student work in the community (including 25 laminated covers of Volume One, and works from campus publication NOTA). Check it out starting Oct. 8, and if you see any Regents around, remind them of UWEC’s high-quality, under-funded programs.
